Fund Raiser for John Southerly's Family
Team VeloSport member, John Southerly has a father in need of a Stem Cell Transplant and he's trying to raise funds to help offset some of the non insurance reimbursed costs affiliated with the procedure. John has had to move to Washington temporarily to be with his father for the next few months and he needs our help. Any donation amount is helpful and John and his family appreciate your kindness. Team VeloSport and the US Cup are combining forces and donating $1000. If all 600 team members donated just $10 each, we'd be able to raise a combined total of $7000. John and his family appreciate your help very much. Thank you! http://www.giveforward.com/raysstemcellfund

The Wednesday Mountain Bike Rides with Team Velosport are back for a 4th Season!
Our first ride on March 14th is going to be at Aliso and Wood Canyon Wilderness Park. We have chosen this venue because it will be the easiest to manage the 80 minutes left for daylight. Biking For Boobs Ride 4/28/12
Team VeloSport has participated in years past with Jennifer Carey in raising money for the Susan G. Koman foundation by riding along in the Biking For Boobs Ride. This event is coming up next month! The fee to join the ride is only $35 but the ride gets capped at 100 riders so be sure to sign up. We know there is a lot of events going on that same weekend (Devil's Punchbowl, Santa Ynez US CUP, Whiskey 50) but if you aren't racing that weekend, it's a great ride for a great cause. Here are the details:
Starting time is 7 AM from the Irvine Amtrak station and the routes are as follows:
The route(s)
The “B Cup” route is a 60 mile direct route to Solana Beach and The Pizza Port. Click here
The “C Cup” is an 85 mile route that goes inland at Palomar, through the Elfin Forest, past Lake Hodges, and ends at Solana as well. This is a really cool route with a lot of climbing. Click here
Trophies for:
First one in – Yellow Bra
Sprinter – Green Bra
King of the Mountain – A Double D Red polka dot bra
Most aggressive – a Sports Bra
Best young/new rider – Training Bra
The San Diego Navy Wounded Warrior team is coming up to join the ride at Las Pulgas. This is a really strong group that are very involved with the Navy Seals.
