MTB Beginners Ride, Wednesday 09/09/09 with JD Kitty and Matthias

Hello Everybody!
Fist of all, mark your calendar for our Beginner Ride Season Finale, Saturday 10/24/2009. Most of our regulars have meanwhile advance their skills and fitness, so the planned 18mile loop at 7500 feet above sea level, is going to be a piece of cake !
But don’t worry, this is going to be a ride for EVERYONE, so we will make plenty of stops at a slow pace ( or split into two groups, with different speeds …). The ride is 80% on fire roads.
Also as the days are getting shorter, we really have to start our rides on time to get at least 60-80 Minutes true riding time.

Meet at 5:15pm in the parking lot of Gate #1 (there will be again a $3 parking fee), you should be able to spot us with our Team Sho-air/Sonance Jersey’s.

Planning to start the ride at 5:30pm after a short introduction to safety rules.
The ride is more targeted to beginner and intermediate riders and actually a very classic loop around the park. We will start all together as a “warm up” with Aliso Creek Trail until we hit Aliso Wood Canyon Trail. This is all flat and easy to ride. At the end we will climb up Cholla Trail, then west ridge trail almost to the “Top of the world “. At this point we will make a group decision: Beginners will go downhill on Mathis, while the more “brave” riders will take “Rock-It”, we all meet again together to finish the loop. As always if requested, we can stop at certain spots and practice some specific skills, like body positions, efficient up hill pedaling, etc ….
Please email me for any further questions and to be honest, we would like to know how many people will show up, so a “RSVP” would be nice but not mandatory…
JD Kitty is on a trip to Canada (hopefully not for some secret practice, LOL ), he will be missed, MEOW !
