Hello Everyone !
Details about our Season Finale at Big Bear, 10/24/2009, will be posted in a separate blog !
Next ride on Wednesday 10/21/09, we will be again at Santiago Truck Trail but with a different start! LIGHTS are MANDATORY !
We will meet at 5:15pm right at the beginning of the Santiago Truck Trail off Modjeska Grade Road. (I do not have an address but you can google it with “Santiago Truck Trail, CA”)
Planning to start the ride at 5:30pm after a short introduction to safety rules.
While this ride will not really require intermediate level skills, riding with lights adds for sure some difficulty to it. So we do not recommend this ride as your first ride. Further it’s going to be one long climb and as a reward one long downhill. As mentioned before, we start Santiago Truck Trail (too wide to call it a single track but also too narrow to call it a fire road). It’s not really steep but just a very long climb or in other words, for sure the longest climb of all our recent rides. Depending on the speed of the group we will have 1 or 2 stops before we turn around at the “Flag Pole“. If you decide to ride the “Luge” you will have to ride back on the paved rood and then up Modjeska Grade Road. Bring a 2nd layer to wear. It might get already a little bit chilly right after dark. Expect total riding time somewhere around 70 Minutes.
Please email me for any further questions and to be honest, we would like to know how many people will show up, so a “RSVP” would be nice but not mandatory.
As always, looking forward and again remember Lights are mandatory !
