Thanks to those who came out to ride today. Cloudy, cool and windy were the order of the day leaving Irvine this morning. Wes, Dan D., Todd R., Bruce C., Frank L. and myself took to the roads at 7:30am for our ritual trek to Seal Beach and beyond. Steady tempo climbs in the Newport area were followed by some quality paceline work up to our rest stop where we picked up Nick for the return leg. Headwinds were a factor as we worked back through Huntington then Newport Beach picking up Mike along the way. The semi-official bathroom stop at Crystal Cove might just make it on the route slip from now on. Seems like a well-placed location in the big picture. Steady tailwind up the 133 helped quite a lot, saving the legs for some high-cadence spinning back into Irvine. That wily Bruce played possum a couple of times and Todd hit the afterburners on the home stretch down Irvine Blvd clocking some healthy speed up to the toll road. Great job today everyone. See you next time!
