If you thought about riding with us, but some venues seemed like too difficult, now it’s the time to join us. This is going to be a very easy ride and perfect for absolute first timers.
Novice/Beginner Rider Course Description: We will start at the southern end of O’Neill Regional Park and gradually climb (underneath the Toll Road) to the beginning of Live Oak Canyon Trail and then all the way to the top (transformer station or overlook). From there we “dive” to Live Oak Canyon Road via Vista Trail. Turn right to Hoffman Homestead Trail, which is a fun single track going up and down parallel to Live Oak Canyon Road and back to our original starting point via Live Oak Canyon Trail. This ride has pretty much everything, from switchbacks, to fire roads, paved roads and single track. So plenty to practice and exercise and yes, we will take more breaks, since we have now daylight for at least 2 Hours.
Experienced Rider Course Description: We start same like the Novice Rider Course but turn left on Hoffman Homestead Trail. At the end we cross Live Oak Canyon Road and will climb on a little bit “rougher” fire road (Trabuco Ridge Drive) to the famous swimming pool and foundation and make our way back via Trabuco Oaks Drive.
For all the Geoladders users. this route comes very close to it:
