Sunday was another good turnout and cooler temperatures made it an enjoyable morning. We were able to set up a short course (about 1.3 miles) and ride on or through grass, sand, pavement, and dirt along with some tough short hills and even a run-up. Practice on dismounts and mounts was also on the menu for the day providing everyone with an opportunity to improve.
And now that we have completed the initial clinics, we will be meeting on Wednesdays at 6:00 pm at the same location for continued training, instruction, and some good ole suffering doing hot laps on our makeshift course.
We will have the barriers up and we will be playing follow the leader as we weave our way through the trees and count down the days to the season opener on September 26. So come out and join us (all levels welcome) starting this Wednesday, September 1 and we will keep going until someone says “uncle.”
Every Wednesday Starting Sept 1 at 6:00 pm until we run out of daylight
Marguerite O Neill Park (http://tinyurl.com/24ry7zb)
Charlinda Drive
Mission Viejo, CA
Meet at the end of the cul-de-sac off of Charlinda which is located off of Alicia Parkway just north of the I-5. This is where the park is located and you can also use the Aliso Creek bike trail to get there (by bike, of course). If you are traveling north on Alicia, go past the I-5 and the first street after that is Charlinda. Turn left and follow it until it ends. Park in the cul-de-sac area and be ready to go at 6:00 pm.
