Hi,

So, after all the much needed rain, it looks like we will be okay for our next MTB Wednesday Ride, which is going to be at Blackstar Canyon and we will have a another Beginner Clinic!

When: Roll off 6:00pm after a short introduction to safety rules

Meeting point: Beginning of Black Star Canyon Road, XMAS Tree Farm.

Driving Directions: Take Santiago Canyon Road. Turn into Silverado Canyon Road. Take the first left which is Black Star Canyon Road and immediately park on the left side. As always you should be able to spot us with our Team Jersey’s.

Beginner Clinic starts at 6:00pm as well, which will include:

-       proper riding gear

-       riding position – seat adjustment

-       how to shift and break

-       climbing and down hill

We will also ride the first part of blackstar canyon road but will turn around, once it gets a little bit steeper.(probably after the first few switch backs)

Novice Rider / Social Pace:

The first mile will be on paved road and after the gate we will continue on black star canyon road, a fire road and no steep climbing. We are planning to ride for about 70 Minutes before turning around. Let’s see how far we can make it ! We will certainly have breaks and as always NOBODY is left behind. On the descent, certainly a very slow pace. It gets now dark by 7:40pm the latest and that should be the time, we will be back to the parking lot.

Experienced Rider Group:

Well, same deal but at a much faster pace and you should be able to make it at least to the gate, if not to the “Giant White Fussball”.

Weather forecast looks good and decent temperatures, but we ride in a canyon and we know blackstar is always 10 Degrees colder than anywhere else, so you might pack a 2^nd layer, just in case …..
