Hello Everyone!
This Wednesday 04/06 we will have our first ride at Aliso and Wood Canyon Wilderness Park and if requested, this venue is perfect for a beginner clinic as well!
When: Meet at 5:45pm with a short introduction to safety rules and a group picture, then roll off sharp at 6:00pm for everyone.
Meeting point: 28373 Alicia Parkway, Laguna Niguel, CA 92677
in the parking lot of Gate #1 (there will be a $3 parking fee) and you should be able to spot us with our Sho-air/Team Velosport Jersey’s.
Beginner Clinic starts at 6:00pm as well, which will include:
- proper riding gear( Helmet, Gloves, …)
- riding position – seat adjustment
- how to shift and break
- climbing and down hill
we will start with some drills in the parking lot, but also ride Aliso Wood Canyon Trail and return to the starting point before darkness.
Novice Rider / Social Pace:
A warm up with Aliso Creek Trail until we hit Aliso Wood Canyon Trail. This is all flat and easy to ride. After a short break we will “sprint” up Cholla (there will be an alternative route to avoid Cholla as well) and take West Ridge Trail towards Top of the world. Down hill on Mathis and then Dripping Cave and all the way back to the parking lot.
Experienced Riders:
In the beginning same as the “Social Pace” but then you will turn left to Dripping Cave for a little bit of single track fun and some short but nasty climbing! Up Cholla, then also West Ridge Trail and but very soon down Lynx, up again Cholla and then down Rock-it, and back to the parking lot.
The next planned Rides:
04/13 El Moro
04/20 Whiting Ranch
Please email us if you have any further questions or if you want to get this blog via email every Monday. As always, looking forward for a great ride and lots of fun!
