Unfortunately last week our Wednesday ride at Whiting was cancelled due to the rain and park closure, so we decided to put it back on schedule for this week. The weather forecast for this Wednesday looks great with perfect temps and sunny skies. Hope all of you can make it!!
When: Wednesday 04/18/12, roll off sharp at 6:00pm,
Where: 05:45pm in the parking lot in front of Wahoo’s (27412 Portola Pkwy # A, Lake Forest, CA 92630). We suggest to arrive between 5:30pm and 5:45pm. You should be able to spot us with our Sho-air/Rock N’Road/Team Velosport Jersey’s. We will have a short meeting about safety rules.
Novice Rider / Social Pace Course Description:
This will be the classic Whiting loop! We start with Borrego Trail then up Mustard Road to 4 Corners down on Whiting Road. Last but not least the very fun Serrano Cow Trail and back top Wahoo’s on Live Oak Trail and Serrano Road. We are going to have a VERY slow pace with many breaks and encourage everyone who joined us last week for their first ride, to add a little bit of climbing and single trail experience. We will most likely split into 2 groups with different average speed, if there is a similar turnout like last week.
Experienced Rider / Faster Pace
This will be a similar loop but with a few extra credits like Cattle pond, then of course a MUST: Cactus Hill Trail , then up Santiago Ranch Road , Vulture View and Sage Scrub.If we have a lot of riders for this group, we may also split into 2 groups with different average speeds and add Line Shack Road with a second run on Serrano Cow Trail before heading back to the cars.
