Hey everyone, John Furlong has been in contact with SHARE and we are set to participate in their March 14th trail maintenance day.  The details are listed below.  Plan on riding or hiking in to the work location.

Our group will be working on the “Missing Link” trail and lunch will be provided by SHARE. We’ll keep a list of VeloSport participants for purposes of the race reimbursement volunteer requirement. Laguna Coast Wilderness Park Trail Work Day 
Date: Saturday March 14 @ 8 am
Time: 8:00 am till Noon (Lunch will be provided by Share Mountain Bike Club)
 
Location: meet at Ridge Park entrance to Laguna Coast Wilderness Park located at the top of Ridge Park road in Newport Coast. We will ride or hike approximately 1 mile to work location.
 
Project Description: 1. Habitat restoration and trail closing in LCWP along Boomer Road in the “better to do nothing” illegal trail area. 2. If time allows, tread work and brushing on Missing Link in Crystal Cove State Park.
 
What to Bring: Hat, Work Gloves, Water, and willingness to get your hands dirty. We recommend long sleeves and long pants. Mountain bikes are welcome to ride into the work sites. Tools will be supplied by Share Mountain Bike and delivered to the work site by LCWP rangers.
 
Directions
From 73 – Exit at Macarthur road and go south (toward ocean). Turn left at Ford Rd. Turn Right at Newport Coast Drive. Turn Left at Ridge Park Rd. Drive to end of road at cul-de-sac and look for Share Mountain Bike trailer and banner.

From 5 – Exit 55 freeway south, Exit 73 freeway south, Exit at Macarthur road and go south (toward ocean). Turn left at Ford Rd. Turn Right at Newport Coast Drive. Turn Left at Ridge Park Rd. Drive to end of road at cul-de-sac and look for Share Mountain Bike trailer and banner.
